About the Artists

The LADY & the TREE is the collaborative workshop of Quain family artists (and gardeners).  Born by the strength and talent of Rebecca Thiery Quain, the group includes Becky and her artistically gifted daughters.

The family basement serves as a haven of creativity, hard work, and constant exploration.  Whether it’s a commission, or a brainchild that was yearning to be born, you can be sure that The Lady & the Tree learned something new as they made it, and you can also be sure that more than one craftsman has had a hand (& head & heart) in it.

The art and labors of medieval man have deeply inspired and informed their artwork (and gardening practices).  Though they can't help but make contemporary art to delight and refresh contemporary men and women, the medieval roots of The Lady & the Tree make themselves known.

You can see them on FaceBook and Instagram, and you can see them even better at local Festivals (see L&T's Events page!), where they show their newest creations, work live on frescoes and sculptures, and sometimes even do a little flame-working!
